RTMF Skate Generation Floripa Brazil

The last week of March was killer if you happened to be in Florianopolas Brazil. The Barros family hosted the Redbull Skate Generation contest held in the infamous RTMF Pool. The way it was set up it was like 2 contest in one. Friday and Saturday they did a regular style contest for Am's, Pro's, Masters, and Legends. Sunday was the team event taking the top 5 riders from each class to make up the teams. All the first place finishers would be one team, and the same would follow for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Pedro's runs were something you had to see to believe. His high speed attack, with massive airs, grinds, and everything in between left everyone in awe. Duane gave everything he had with every run. Frontside rocks, Indy airs, Fastplants, 540 slides, Potato grinds, and more. After the dust settled Duane ended up 2nd, everyone but the judges thought Duane should have won the individual event. Nathan Jimi Beck took second in the Pro division behind Pedro with some killer lines, nose grinds, and frontside inverts on the hip. Sunday was the day of the team event and Pedro didn't disappoint the packed hillside or the crowd poolside. Duane was still battered from the day before and wasn't able to put the lines together like the day before, but was still out for blood. Jimi was also a little off on Sunday, but put in some killer runs including a rad doubles run with Alex Sorgente. Pedros team held onto first, while DP and Jimi finished the team event in third. It was a killer event with a crowd that really appreciates the roots and the future of skateboarding.
