ONE WAY WEEKEND: Santa Cruz

Hamrock, Matt Miskell & Shane Porter met up with Hosoi Skates’ Aaron Astorga and hit the road for a weekend of skating and debauchery. We decided on heading up to the Santa Cruz area and while we were up there we checked out the Tim Brauch Memorial Contest as well as some local spots and skated everything in our paths.

San Pedro Skatepark Benefit Recap

Yamo was living in the old News Pilot building in San Pedro, but since he is moving out they decided to have a benefit show to raise money for the
San Pedro Skatepark Association. I showed up right after Mike Watt played.
I was disapointed I missed him play in his hometown of San Pedro. So we hung outside for a while with Josh & Chris.
Then made our way inside and shot the shit with Ben & Skreech as the next band set up. Once they started to jam it was time to jockey for a position up on the balcony.


Thee Cormans psychodelic surf stomp got the crowd going.

Had a couple brews and hung out with some of the usual lurkers
as Nihilist got ready to rock.

Nihilist got the pit thrashing.

People were going crazy on the dance floor. Everyone had a goodtime while supporting the local scene. Thanks to Yamo, Bill, Andy, Robbie and everyone who donates their time, energy or money to the skatepark.

On our last trip up to San Jose we stopped by Santa Cruz Skate Shop while we were in SC.
Danny showed us a couple tricks he had up his sleeve when he whipped out his phone
and started to do a Live Stream directly from the shop to the internet.

CHANNEL STREET- Benefit 10/17/2008

ON THE ROAD PT.1

A few weeks back we hit the road to just go skate
and make our way up to the Tim Brauch contest.
Got together a crew of Hamrock, Matt Miskell,
Shane Porter and Hosoi Skates' Aaron Astorga.
On the way up we skated this Epic Spot
with some of the dudes from TWS & Bartie.


Spent the night in Salinas where the were some sketchy
women of ill repute that Shane had a run in with.
Skated Santa Cruz all day. Lurked through the city all night.
Shane met some more ladies.

Set up some new boards before we went to the contest in Scott's Valley

Shane took a couple of runs.
Matt gave Anthony Schultz a bad reputation.

We went and ate some killerHawaiianfood and were on the road again.
